CHART Art Fair
Booth 13
26 Aug  – 28 Aug  2016
Galerie Anhava is pleased to present the following artists at CHART: Heini Aho, Pe Lang and Mari Sunna.

HEINI AHO’s (b.1979, Finland) is an emerging Finnish artist whose works combine sculpture, installation and moving image. Her artistic production addresses the issues of space, the shifts in perception and the experiences that these factors arouse. The viewer is surprised by the alternative reality presented by the artwork or the unexpected transformation of mundane objects and phenomena. On display at CHART will be her installation Stalagmites consisting of sculptural elements and a video. Heini Aho has graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts, Helsinki, in 2015, and Turku Arts Academy in 2003. She has participated in solo and group exhibitions and screenings in Finland and abroad. Aho is a member of the international artist collective Videokaffe.

PE LANG (b. 1974, Switzerland) is a Swiss artist working in Berlin. His works are mechanical-kinetic pieces addressing the visual and poetic possibilities of matter, physics and mathematics. He carries on the tradition of constructivist and kinetic art, doing so in a captivating and fascinating manner. Pe Lang’s sound sculptures and moving objects are surprising and elegant works in which each part justifies itself through its relationship with the whole. In recent years, his works have been exhibited in Beijing, Miami, Nagoya City, Paris, London, San Francisco, and Tokyo, among others. The artist’s works are found in collections such as the Borusan Contemporary in Istanbul, the Museum of Science, Art and Human Perception in San Francisco and the Maxine and Stuart Frankel Foundation for Art in Michigan.

MARI SUNNA (b. 1972, Finland) lives and works in Berlin. Sunna has an extremely broad expressive range, from delicate and dream-like paintings to funny and strange works which can be both subtle and uncanny at the same time. The figures in her paintings express something profoundly essential about the human condition. Mari Sunna is an internationally recognized painter, whose work has been displayed in various international solo and group exhibitions. Her recent joint exhibitions include Icons, Maison Particulière, Brussels; Don’t Shoot the Painter, Galleria d’Arte Moderna, Milan; The Milky Way 2, Fondazione Pianoterra Onlus, Rome and Dark Days, Bright Nights, Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, Kansas City. Alongside private and public Finnish collections, her works are included in, among others, the Saatchi Collection, the Deutsche Bank Collection, the French State Collection and various private collections in Europe and the United States.
