SANTERI TUORI’S works are elegant and they have a marked appeal to the senses. The aspect of time essential to photography relates in an interesting way to Tuori’s collage-type method. A single piece contains pictures of many different moments, and even from different years. His work is characterized by the logic of layeredness, covering and revealing, with individual works consisting of several layers of images. The layers translucently visible through each other contain both black and white and colour photographs.

Santeri Tuori (b. 1970, Espoo) lives and works in Helsinki. His work has been shown in numerous solo and group  exhibitions at venues including Serlachius Museum Gösta in Mänttä, Schlassgaart in Clervaux, Luxembourg, the Purdy Hicks Gallery in London, and Chaumont-Photo-sur-Loire in France. His most recent group exhibitions include venues such as Serlachius Museum Gösta, Mänttä; Kunsthalle Helsinki; Kunsthalle St. Annen, Lübeck; Beraro Museum, Lisbon; and Rovaniemi Art Museum. There are videos and photographs by Tuori in many public and private collections in Europe, Japan, and the USA.
