Vesa-Pekka Rannikko’s new public artwork unveiled in Espoo

Vesa-Pekka Rannikko’s new public artwork Flux – Merging Streams (Vuo – virrat yhdistyvät) has been completed at Vaakunatori square in Espoo Centre. The large-sized, multicoloured sculpture was commissioned by the City of Espoo.

The soft and flowy pronunciation of the Finnish name Vuo (Flux) is a reference to the shape of the work, and its steel nets form a stream-like bed inside which one may pass through. The sculpture can be seen in different colours, depending on the direction of the viewer. Rannikko’s work is a reflection of the various meanings and functions of the surrounding area, where many voices form a united outcome.
